Former Picton Pirate Shaw Boomhower will continue his professional hockey career in the ECHL next season.

Boomhower, who was a Pirate during the 2014-2015 season, has inked a deal with the Adirondack Thunder for the 2024-2025 hockey season. Last season, Shaw was limited to just 10 games due to an injury ending his season prematurely. Prior to that, he spent seasons in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers, Kalamazoo Wings & Cincinnati Cyclones, as well as a stop in Rochester playing for the AHL’s Americans. Adirondack is the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.

Boomhower, who is just 25, played his minor hockey with the Quinte Red Devils before moving into junior hockey with the Picton Pirates and Wellington Dukes which led to an OHL career split between the Mississauga Steelheads and the Ottawa 67s.

Good luck Shaw!
