The Picton Pirates are pleased to announce the appointment of Brian MacKenzie as the team’s new Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 season.

With a deep passion for the game and a proven track record in leadership and player development, MacKenzie brings a wealth of experience to the organization.
In this dual role, he will play a key part in supporting the coaching staff on and off the ice while also assisting with managing the team’s roster, player acquisitions, and day-to-day operations. “He brings the kind of energy, vision, and hockey IQ that aligns perfectly with the direction we’re heading,” says Head Coach and General Manager Jamie Lane. “We’re confident that he will have an immediate and lasting impact on both our locker room culture and our front-office strategy.” MacKenzie has spent the last seven seasons in the OJHL, most recently with the Wellington Dukes as Assistant Coach and Assistant GM, and says he is excited to join the Picton Pirates family.

“I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to contribute to this team’s ongoing success. There is a strong foundation here and I’m fully committed to helping build a winning culture that our players, fans and community can all be proud of,” says MacKenzie.
